Glossary of Physical Terms used in the Poems

Poised to Exist: The graviton is a hypothetical particle which is responsible for the effects of gravity - it is the quantum of the gravitational field in the same way that the photon is the quantum of the electromagnetic field. Unlike a photon however, a graviton is vastly more difficult to detect to the extent that it may never be possible. The references to symmetry and Supersymmetry allude to the underlying patterns that arise in the mathematics describing the complete range of known forces in nature. Such symmetries often point the way forward to giving a unified description of the forces of nature (a Grand Unified Theory - 'GUT').
